Anthropic's Claude Is Turning Formula 1 Fans Into Racing Drivers

Williams F1 Team

Anthropic is taking Claude out of the chat window and onto the track. In partnership with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team, the AI company has unveiled the latest chapter of Pattern of Thought—an interactive experience that analyzes how fans drive rather than simply what they type.

At a custom simulator beneath London's Piccadilly Lights, participants complete a virtual lap while Claude interprets their telemetry, decision-making, and racing instincts. The result is one of twelve unique "Driving Mind" archetypes, paired with a personalized visual identity inspired by Formula 1 performance data.

The activation builds on the campaign's Monaco debut, where Claude transformed the emotional and cognitive patterns of Williams drivers and engineers into bespoke race suit graphics. This latest iteration shifts the focus to fans, turning AI into something closer to a race engineer than a chatbot.

As AI brands search for more tangible ways to connect with culture, Anthropic's latest move suggests the future may be less about prompting—and more about performance.
